BETHUNE
Founded in 2009, Bethune Development focuses on single-family and multi-family residential development projects. Our firm specializes in modern luxury contemporary design by incorporating advance technology with functional floor plans.
At our core, Bethune Development, works within the community and we select properties that are distressed and could add value back to those communities by either renovating or repositioning those properties. Like a thread in a fabric, each project has a distinct connectivity to that community, to the people that make-up that community and ultimately the people that this project brings to a community.
OUR PRESIDENT
William T. Bethune II, is a native Washingtonian, who grew-up in the southwest, Waterfront area of DC. Attended the Capitol Hill Cluster schools then graduating from Woodrow Wilson Senior High School. Received an undergraduate degree in Marketing from Hampton University. Transitioned into real estate by starting as an intern at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce in the Real Estate and Development Department. Moved from policy initiatives to property management at Goldin Management in Brooklyn, New York at a small a firm in the Park Slope, neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Having a true desire for doing real estate back in Washington, DC moved back to becoming the sole property manager for a luxury developer, Jefferson Builders, in the Georgetown a neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Attended Harvard University’s business graduate school for management and received a Master’s in Land Development from University of Maryland, College Park. Formed Bethune Development, while at the University of Maryland in 2009. Bethune Development’s first project was in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Southeast, Washington DC an east of the river project back in 2010.
